John said that "the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7). The iead here is that the blood keeps cleanses us from all sin. What is so bad about sin? I believe the answer is found in Isaiah 43:7. God said, "For I have created him, that is man, for my glory. I have him, yea, I have made him." We were made not only for the image of God, but created for the glory of God.

When God tells us, "Don't sin," it is simply because because He has something better for us. God promises to give us grace and glory, and He said, "No good thing will I withhold from those who walk uprightly before me." Peter said it like this, "He has according to His divine power, given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness." Jesus, the ultimate authority, said, "Little flock, is the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."

Sin Violates Your Body

The Bible says your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. God knew about lung cancer before the Surgeon General discovered that cigarette smoking is harmful to your health. You really can't break God's commandments, you can only break yourself from God's commandments.

Sin Is An Insult to Grace

We know what sin does to us, but what does sin do to God? Every sin we commit brings dishonor to the pure, holy name of the Son of God. A person doesn't really need any other reason to repent for sin.

Sin Separates You From God

You can't have fellowship with God with unconfessed sin in your life. Proverbs 28:13 say, "he that covereth his sin shall not prosper, but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." 1 John 1:9 tells us, "If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

What Is The Cure For Sin?

The blood of Jesus Christ is the absolute cure for sin. The song writer ask the question, "What can wash away my sin?" And his answer was, "Nothing but the blood of Jesus." Because sin is so horrible, a horrible price had to be paid to free men and woman from the guilt and penalty of sin.
